Winter Fun

Its funny most things hibernate in the winter. Not here in Maine.  The locals around here look forward to the winter and the snow.  They have so many activities geared toward the white stuff. 

We have learned that a snowmobile is called a sled.  That in school they go skiing at gym.  They teach the children from real young how to snowshoe at school, and they love it.  They go out everyday for recess unless it drops below 10 degrees.  Boy that is cold. 

To be honest it looks pretty with all that snow on the ground all the time, so its not so bad.  Your body does get used to the cold. You just dress warmer.  Well, me I just stay closer to the fireplace. 

Well of course the puppies join me.  That is, when they are not playing outside or going for a walk with their little girl and boy.

We did move to Maine in the middle of the winter so we have not had a full Maine winter.  We look forward to next year to capture the full affect.  We will be prepared.  We will take advantage of all of activities that are at our disposal.  Of course on a budget.  Most things are free to local residents on certain days.  You just have to search it out.  We even have a snow tubing mountain right down the street.  That is a definite on our list for next year.  Not for me of course but the kids cant wait.
